Plenary: “Local Action for Global Goals”

This Global Online Plenary is hosted by the UN Committee of the Association for World Education. It will highlight local action for global goals from Denmark, Egypt, India and Russia. The purpose of this webinar is to inspire and exchange ideas on what one can do for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in one’s own community and region. We have invited educators and change agents from across the world to participate in this interactive global platform. This plenary will be moderated by Sujit Kumar Paul, Head of Department, Lifelong Learning and Extension at the Visva Bharati International University (Shantiniketan), West Bengal, India.

PART TWO: YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

10.00 AM   Skills for life and for self-sufficiency:Youth in cities in upper Egypt lack essential services and job opportunities. An Egyptian NGO founded by young university graduates, Benaa NGOis launching “Start Your Project” program to train youth in entrepreneurship skills. This program will enable youth to establish new startups and create new job opportunities that can address sustainable development goals such as poverty, hunger, health and education.
