The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the 193 member nations of the United Nations as the common agenda for the future. The nations have to fulfil the goals by 2030 to ensure a good life for all. This will only happen if the local communities all over the world do their part - use the SDGs as an agenda for strong sustainable local communities. In Svendborg, Denmark, the local council has in 2021 supported a project that maps the SDG’s related to private companies, public organizations and NGO’s in a database - that serves as platform for deliberations of cooperation, synergies and local development. Funding for the start of parallel projects has been found related to communities in Germany, France and Algeria. They will start in 2022. And more are on their way.
Agenda:
1) Introduction to the local project in Svendborg
a) How do we map the organisations (companies, public, NGO’s)
b) Our interactive public events to promote results and dialogue
2) How to start more local projects in any part of the world
a) The formats and resources available - online database in any language, formats for local projects
b) Opportunities for local exchanges - and exchanges between different localities to create new synergies.
3) Dialogue with participants.
