Highlights from the 2025 AWE International Council Meeting
INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL MEETING OF AWE – JULY 2025 – IPC, DENMARK
The International Council Meeting (ICM) of AWE was held at the International People’s College, Denmark, in July 2025. Around twenty-five participants and members from various countries attended the meeting.
The Council discussed alternative education models, including the Grundtvigian folk education system, and received presentations from member countries on their local community projects. The Council also expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.
It was decided to publish a new manifesto or resolution on the Gaza situation on the AWE homepage, in response to the escalating violence and loss of innocent lives. The Presidency also expressed the intention to reach out to more individual educators and institutions over the next three years, in order to strengthen AWE’s impact within the wider global community.
