Mr. Anindya Mitra is a development professional and social researcher, obtained Master’s in Rural Development, Bachelor in Science and Advance Post Graduate Certificate Course in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Presently, he is pursuing Ph.D in Rural Management from Visva-Bharati (A Central University), India.  He has 7 years of professional experience in development sector and worked in Project Management, Research, MIS and Documentation. Mr. Mitra has also provided capacity building support to grass root voluntary organizations in terms of training, project management, monitoring and evaluation. He is possessing good research knowledge and skills on social and developmental issues and conducted several studies and research works on social, natural resource management and livelihood promotion issues. He has presented 16 research papers on various developmental issues in National and International Conferences and Seminars and published 11 research papers in Journals and Edited Books. He has worked in various national level organizations in India. Presently, Mr. Mitra is working as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India sponsored R&D Project entitled “Enhancement and Securing Women and Child Health through Capacity Building and Technological Advancement” inthe Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, Visva-Bharati (A Central University), India. Mr. Mitra is associated with AWE - An International NGO with consultative status in the United Nations, as an Individual Member since November, 2016.

Psychologist with a specialty in social psychology and gender issues. When I become AWE member, I was coordinating REPEM (Popular Education Network among Women), for South Cone in Latin America (Chile, Argentina and Uruguay), working with women from poor sectors and indigenous women, for the recognition of their rights. 

Since 1999 until my retirement in 2011 I was hired by Church World Service as Regional Representative for South America. I carried out project evaluation activities, accompaniment of non-governmental organizations and coordination of training processes in the region.

Since my retirement, I am committed to advising women's organizations, evaluating and monitoring projects and capacity building proposals.
